Trip guide
The main season runs from mid-November, when the temple opens for the 41-day Mandala period, to Makaravilakku in mid-January. The temple also opens for the first few days of each Malayalam month, but most groups from Telangana travel during the main season after completing their deeksha.
It is a long road journey of about 1,200 km to Kerala. Vehicles go up to Pamba, the base for the 4 km climb to the temple. Many groups also stop at Erumeli, or add temples on the way, so tell us your stops and we will plan the route and timings.
November to January is our busiest period for Ayyappa groups. Call as soon as your group's dates are fixed so we can keep the right size vehicle for you.
Tell us all your stops when you book and we will include them in the quote.

For up to 12 swamys a 12-seater tempo traveller works well. For bigger groups choose an 18-seater, a 22 or 28-seater mini bus, or a 40 or 50-seater bus.
Fuel and driver are included in the per-km rate. Because this is an outstation trip, driver food and stay, toll charges, parking and state border tax are charged on top.
It is about 1,200 km by road. Most groups plan 4 to 6 days for the return trip, depending on stops.
